The compression fittings (brass pex fitting) are among the most popular fittings for PEX pipe or PEX-AL-PEX pipes. This tubing usually comes with two rubber O-rings positioned over the barbs. Each one includes an insert that goes inside the tubing, a compression ring that is split diagonally, and a compression nut.
The insert is placed inside the tubing, with the compression ring on the outside and the compression nut over it. This is a unique form of PEX fitting that does not require specialized compression tools. Installation is simple: use a wrench or pliers to tighten the nut over the compression ring. As the ring is tightened, the diagonal cut closes, forming a secure compressed seal.
